BIOGRAPHY:
When he's not training, Nick Hendrickson spends all of his time outdoors. Learning to ski at age 2, Hendrickson fell in love with the fresh air. After competing and training with the Park City Nordic Ski Club, he was named to the U.S. Ski Team. Hendrickson scored a career best point total on the Continental Cup circuit in 2011 and also skied to a top-20 at Junior World Championships for the fourth time in his young career. Hendrickson, along with Brett Denney the Fletcher brothers, leads a wave of talented competitors as the next generation of nordic combined contenders.

NICK SAYS:
I went into the 2011 season with goals of skiing well at World Junior Championships and qualifying for the 2011 Oslo World Championship team. I was happy with how I was skiing in the first half of the season and was happy to be named to the World Championship team. I spent almost the entire winter on the road and learned a lot about the sport and competing when there is never a moment to relax. Finishing off the season in the Lahti, Finland World Cups, I was excited to get lots of solid training in the summer and improving for the 2012 season!

FIRST TRACKS:
Hendrickson has old coach Gregor Linsig to thank for getting involved with ski jumping. His first ski jumping experience was when Linsig convinced him to go to an after school program. He started with the program but was too young and couldn't make it up the tow rope. A year later, he started jumping.

OFF THE SNOW:
Outside of the sport, I like to spend my time outdoors with friends and family.  I really enjoy taking backpacking trips and biking in my off time.  Also, with the backcountry skiing good into mid-summer, I like to get out backcountry skiing as much as possible.
